Call to the Meeting

The two-hundredth Annual Meeting of the American Antiquarian Society will be held in Antiquarian Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon, the twenty-sixth of October, at 3:30 o'clock

• to hear the report of the Council,
• to elect officers and Councilors,
• to elect new members, and
• to transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting.

Related activities for members and guests will take place Thursday and Friday, according to the appended schedule.

Thursday, October 25

7:00 p.m.	Ninth Annual Robert C. Baron Lecture "'Those Who Labor in the Archives Are the Chosen People of God, If Ever He Had a Chosen People': Or, How The Legacy of Conquest Could Have Been a Better Book If Its Author Had Spent a Season at the American Antiquarian Society" by Patricia Limerick Antiquarian Hall
8:30 p.m.	Reception following the Lecture Goddard-Daniels House

Friday, October 26

9:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.	Orientation for new members Antiquarian Hall Any member attending an AAS annual meeting for the first time, whether newly elected or not, is encouraged to attend this informative session outlining the collections and activities of the Society.
10:30-12:00 p.m.	Celebration of Bicentennial Gifts This roundtable presentation by members and staff will showcase significant items donated to the Society in honor of the two-hundredth anniversary year Antiquarian Hall
12:00-1:30 p.m.	Luncheon for members and fellows Goddard-Daniels House
1:30-3:00 p.m.	Symposium in honor of Georgia Barnhill In honor of her retirement, AAS Members, staff and colleagues will discuss the many ways Gigi has impacted scholarship, special collections, and education in her forty-four years at the Society Antiquarian Hall
3:00-3:30 p.m.	Refreshment break
3:30-5:00 p.m.	Annual business meeting Antiquarian Hall
5:00-7:00 p.m.	Cocktail dinner

Saturday, October 27

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.	Rural Cemetery Tour William Wallace, executive director of the Worcester Historical Museum, will discuss the Society members interred in the cemetery Meet at the Rural Cemetery Chapel
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.	Hosted dinners
8:00 - 12:00 p.m.	"Black and White and Read All Over" Black tie gala Antiquarian Hall

A block of rooms has been reserved in the Courtyard by Marriott, Worcester at the rate of $ 119.00 plus tax. To make a reservation, please call (508) 363-0300 and mention that you are attending the American Antiquarian Society's annual meeting. Please reserve by October 1, 2012.

Registration for the annual meeting must be received no later than than Friday, October 12, 2012. The Society regrets that it cannot give refunds for cancellations made after that date.
