Red Riding Hood.
1 watercolor drawing. Bears handwritten caption, "Up to date Little Red Riding Hood." In this depiction, the "wolf" is a toy on wheels that Red pulls by a string.

7 pen and ink drawings. Includes cover, title page, contents, chapter headings, spine model. Also includes: 3 proofs printed in white, black, and blue ink--taken from another publisher (copyright 1866 by Johnson, Fry & Co.); 1 metal-engraved picture; 6 metal-engraved autograph facsimiles; 43 pieces bearing half-tone illustrations--some signed by Enos B. Comstock (includes portraits of English royalty and English and Colonial American political leaders); 79 disbound leaves taken from non-McLoughlin publications issued ca. 1858-1875 (includes portraits of political leaders, autograph facsimiles). These items were housed originally in a McLoughlin Bros. archival binding (cardboard boards, cloth spine). On upper cover: Shelf no. 14. This binding is shelved separately in Phase Box .
