This volume from the Bindings Collection, Flowers of Cathay, was part of the collection of Michael Papantonio. Bound by Pawson and Nicholson in Philadelphia on March 25, 1864, this example was bound in white calf inlaid with colored morocco, and has gilt board edges and turn-ins with printed gold endpapers.

Note Cards - Little Eliza

Children's books were notoriously read "to pieces." The History and Adventures of Little Eliza is an example of a well-loved book, with torn pages and careful hand stitching used to repair damage. The book was published by William Charles in Philadelphia in 1814.
