Title

The House of Novelties

Description

This single-sheet Kindel & Graham ad promotes the Centennial Line of McLoughlin picture books issued in 1928. This effort was intended to help regenerate consumer interest in the McLoughlin Brothers brand. Kindel & Graham ran a large toy shop in San Francisco, an excellent venue for McLoughlin’s products. The network of resellers established by McLoughlin Brothers in the golden era of 1880 to 1900 expanded after the turn of the century as more independent booksellers and toy shops opened up across the country.
