All AAS fellowship applications are online. Please follow the following steps below.
Step 1 - Check eligibility requirements
Foreign nationals who have been residents in the United States for at least three years immediately preceding the application deadline for the fellowship are eligible.
- 4-12 Month Residential Academic Research
Postdoctoral scholars. Degree candidates are not eligible.
Hench fellows must be no more then 3 years beyond doctorate. - 1-2 Month Residential Academic Research
Postdoctoral scholars and graduate students.
AAS-ASECS fellows must be postdoctoral scholars. - Creative and Performing Artists and Writers Research
Creative and performing artists and writers. - 3 Month Virtual
Postdoctoral scholars and graduate students. - ACLS Community College Faculty Research
Community college faculty only.
Step 2 - Prepare Supporting Materials
You will be asked to attach supplemental information to the online application. Each type of fellowship has different requirements but all fellowship applications require the following:
- A CV
- Description of your proposed research project
- A selective bibliography
Step 3 - Complete the appropriate online application
