Richard Collins died May 13, 2023. A banker for forty-five years, Collins came to Worcester as president and CEO of Mechanics Bank and subsequently served as regional president of Bank of Boston and as president and CEO of First Massachusetts Bank, and finally (when that bank was acquired) as president and CEO of United Cooperative Bank in West Springfield. He retired in 2014.
