Saundra Baker Lane

Saundra Lane died May 29, 2023. Lane was a distinguished collector of American modernist art and photography. In addition, she was an extraordinary benefactor of numerous cultural institutions, especially the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, to which in 2012 she committed to donating her and her late husband’s collection of more than 6,000 photographs, one hundred works on paper, and twentyfive paintings. She also supported the Worcester Art Museum, the Boston Public Library, and AAS over the years. She provided essential early support for the Society’s Center for Historic American Visual Culture.
