Stanley Scott died January 31, 2023. A collector of historical material related to the American Revolution, George Washington, and early New York City (among other interests), Scott supported historical organizations throughout his life. He was a founder and patron of New York’s Fraunces Tavern Museum and was also involved with the American Trust for the British Library, the New-York Historical Society, the John Carter Brown Library, the American Numismatic Society, the Grolier Club, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon, as well as numerous arts organizations. By profession he was first a publisher and commercial printer, and later a real estate developer.
