Sharon Block is professor of history and associate vice chancellor for equity, diversity, and inclusion at the University of California, Irvine. A scholar of race and sexuality in North American history as well as digital humanities, she is the author of Colonial Complexions: Race and Bodies in Eighteenth-Century America (2018), Rape and Sexual Power in Early America (2006), and more than twenty-five articles and essays in scholarly journals and anthologies. Block has held fellowships at the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture, the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, and the Library Company of Philadelphia, among many others.
