Douglas S. Brown is a seasoned executive with over thirty-five years of senior leadership experience in law, medicine and government. He currently is a partner at Manatt Health, a multidisciplinary, integrated professional services firm. Previously, he served as president of community hospitals and chief administrative and legal officer for UMass Memorial Health. Brown began his career as a trial lawyer in the private sector and served in the Massachusetts state government as assistant attorney general, general counsel of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, and finally as director of the state Medicaid program. He is a former trustee of the American Hospital Association. He collects antiquarian books and manuscripts of early America, and his entry Fighting for The Crown Jewel: America, 1735-1775, was selected as the winner of the 2024 Ticknor Society Book and Book Culture Collecting Prize.
