Dorothy Goldman died July 24, 2023. A professor of interior design and architecture at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston until her retirement, Goldman was best known as a collector and philanthropist. She and her late husband, S. Howard Goldman (elected April 1989; died 1997), built an important collection of manuscripts and books concerning the early days of the U. S. 37 independence, including the first printing of the final text of the original U.S. Constitution. Dorothy Goldman served as a trustee of the New-York Historical Society, as vice president of the Supreme Court Historical Society, and as chair of the Jewish Theological Seminary’s library advisory board.
