The Casket is a handwritten newspaper containing a few articles about childhood, life and happiness, Napoleon Bonaparte, and a reflection by the editress.
There are also puzzles and an advertisement included, the latter searching for contributors to join the newspaper. On the cover, the editress wrote " Motto. Nil Desperandum. Terms. Attention while reading and no criticism."
This is followed by an editorial indicating that the editress is a novice at writing newspapers and that she did not want to take on such a task. This might allude to the newspaper being a school assignment.
