The Manhattan Sun is a handwritten newspaper published and edited by R. Holland, likely born around 1833, in New York, N.Y. from 1847 to 1848.
In the first number, Holland wrote mostly religious articles about conventions, performances, and ministers. He also included political articles denouncing the Mexican-American War and the debate of slavery in Congress.
In the second number, he wrote anecdotes and poems about the French Revolution, as well as notices of local news and events. Also in the second number, Holland included a few small drawings within the text.
