The Evening Star is a manuscript newspaper published in Hopkinton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts during 1860. The editor and most of the contributors are unnamed, except for the initials A.H. in one article. However, it is mentioned in the editorial that the school term would soon be over along with the newspaper. It is likely this paper was associated with the Hopkinton Academy, established in the 1840s. It contains mostly moralistic reflections and anecdotes. One of the articles titled "Apples, A Negro Lecture" is written in a style mocking African Americans.
