Cotton Mather and His Slaves.

The article presents a brief examination into the broadside tract "Left at my house for me, when I was not at home, by Spaniard, Dr. Mather's Negro: March 23, 1713/1714," the history of its contents and publishing, and the nature of the Massachusetts Puritan minister Cotton Mather's connection to slaves in at the turn of the 18th century. The author challenges previous assertions regarding its authorship by Cotton Mather. Examination of historical records is also cited clarifying the ownership of a Spanish slave by Mather.
