The article presents discussion of the early college buildings constructed for Harvard College and other educational institutions in Cambridge, Massachusetts during the late-17th century. Excerpts are provided of multiple journals, public documents and other primary sources describing the early buildings established at the Harvard campus, including the writings of the Puritan minister Cotton Mather, the British Commissioner Edward Randolph, and colonial governor John Winthrop. Detailed descriptions of the characteristics and purposes of each building are provided, such as those for housing Native Americans, for utilities, and for teaching spaces.
