Swiss Pact of 1291.

The article discusses the donation of heliotype facsimiles of a Swiss pact created in 1291 to the American Antiquarian Society (AAS). A letter to AAS president Stephen Salisbury from AAS member John D. Washburn regarding the facsimiles and the significance of the pact is presented. A translation of the pact from Latin by college professor William E. Peters is provided. The pact discusses the cooperation of residents of the valley of Schwyz in Switzerland to protect each other and the punishment for those arrested on charges of murder and robbery.
