Rutherford Birchard Hayes.

A biography of former U.S. president Rutherford Birchard Hayes is presented. Hayes was born in January 17, 1893 in Fremont Ohio. He married Lucy Ware Webb and served in the 23rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the U.S. Civil War. He fought in the battle of South Mountain, where he was wounded, and served in the U.S. Congress and as governor of Ohio before being elected president. Hayes' lack of support by Congress during his presidency is noted. He declined to campaign for re-election.
