Information about the April 29, 1896 semi-annual meeting of the American Antiquarian Society is presented. Anecdotes were presented by Society members about a variety of subjects including college stories about U.S. Representative from Massachusetts William W. Rice; U.S. Senator George Frisbie Hoar discussed his correspondence with Indian leaders Red Cloud and Chief Joseph; and a 1785 Massachusetts court decision regarding an adulteress sentenced to wear the letter "A" on her clothing as part of her punishment.
