Information about the April 28, 1897 semi-annual meeting of the American Antiquarian Society is presented. Two presentations were made which were a memorial of American astronomer Benjamin A. Gould by Andrew McFarland Davis and a biographical sketch of American economist and U.S. Civil War Union General Francis A. Walker by Henry W. Haynes. The meeting also discussed two eighteenth-century American broadsides titled "Ballad of a Lighthouse Keeper" and "Ballad of Blackbeard," both by Benjamin Franklin.
