Report of the Council.

A report from the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) Council is presented. The author notes the appointment of Jeremiah Evarts Greene as biographer for deceased AAS members. The creation of a committee to plan a celebration of AAS vice-president Edward Everett Hale's birthday is noted. AAS president Stephen Salisbury and AAS recording secretary Charles Augustus Chase have declared their support for a bill in the Massachusetts Legislature regarding the preservation of town records. The deaths of AAS members Michael Charles O'Brien and Henry Hitchcock are noted.
