Greek Archaeology.

The article discusses archaeological research in Greece. The author comments on the influence of Greek civilization on daily life in Athens, Greece. The establishment of the Greek Archaeological Society and the work of French, German, American and British scholars scholars in excavating Greek buildings are discussed. Archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann's work excavating Mycenae, Greece aided the funding of archaeological work in the region. German archaeologists determined that a temple built at Ægina, Greece was dedicated to the deity Aphæa rather than the goddess Athena as previously assumed. The discovery of the site of the Dodona oracle and the relationship of archaeology to the imagination are discussed.
