The article discusses autographs of Pilgrim leader William Brewster. The record office at Plymouth, Massachusetts contains a deed bearing Brewster's signature. The author notes that Brewster's signature was also discovered in a copy of the book "Harmonia Evangelica," by Thomas Cartwright, at the library at Yale University and a book by John Chrysotom at the Boston Athenæum. Another example of Brewster's signature was discovered by Elizabeth Goffe Ticknor, a student at the University of Wisconsin, who informed the university's history professor Frederick J. Turner about the signature in a book of treatises by pastor Francis Johnson. The book was donated by its owner, Olive Ticknor, to the Wisconsin Historical Society.
