Report of the Council.

A report issued by the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) Council is presented. The author notes the deaths of AAS members Charles Kendall Adams, Edward Eggleston, Horace Gray, John Wesley Powell, John Bellows and John George Bourinot. Donations to the AAS Library are also noted. The U.S. Bureau of Ethnology announced the publication of a dictionary by James Hammond Trumbull for an Indian Bible. The editing of the dictionary was supervised by bureau official Albert S. Gatschet. The author comments on how Gatschet's editing will benefit those studying the Algonquin language.
