A report of the Council of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) to fill vacancies in the society's positions is presented. The death of former AAS president Stephen Salisbury and the resignation of former AAS secretary Charles A. Chase led to the appointment of AAS members Waldo Lincoln and Francis H. Dewey to the AAS Finance Committee. A proposal to change dates for the society's annual and semi-annual meetings is noted. Gratitude is expressed for the donation of plates for the book "A Compendious History of New England," by John Gorham Palfrey, to the society.
