The Almanacs of Roger Sherman 1750-1761.

The article discusses almanacs written by New England author Roger Sherman. Sherman wrote a pamphlet on the depreciation of currency in the New England colonies and was inspired by his interest in mathematics to begin the publication of an almanac modeled after the work of physician Nathaniel Ames. Sherman objected to additions made to the almanac by printer Henry De Foreest regarding the months and seasons. A bibliography of Sherman's almanacs is presented. Sherman's writings on the capture of Quebec, Canada by British forces and examples of poetry published in his almanacs are also presented.
