A report of the Council of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The authors note the death of former AAS member George Grenville Benedict and discusses the formation of a committee to investigate the construction of a building for AAS activities. Rhode Island Historical Society librarian Clarence Saunders Brigham has been selected to edit the published versions of British royal proclamations concerning America. AAS vice-president Waldo Lincoln has proposed the disposal of some books in the AAS library collections. The status of a project to index manuscripts contained in the AAS library's collections is described.
