Report of the Council.

A report by the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) Council is presented. The society exchanged the Salisbury Mansion for a section of land owned by the Worcester Art Museum for the construction of an AAS building. A committee has been established to produce architectural plans for the building. Electrical lighting in the AAS building has been renovated. Edmund M. Barton was designated as AAS Librarian Emeritus following his resignation as AAS librarian. AAS recording secretary Andrew McFarland Davis donated funds for the acquisition of a portrait of former AAS president Stephen Salisbury. The deaths of AAS members George Sturgis Paine and Daniel Coit Gilman are noted.
