Report of the Council.

A report for the Council of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The author discusses the society's celebration to mark its centennial and the attendance of former U.S. president William Howard Taft at the festivities. The contributions of AAS president Waldo Lincoln to the celebration are noted. Gifts received by the society and the acquisition of land adjoining the AAS' building are commented on. The author proposes increasing communication to distant society members and improving the society's newspaper and book collections. The deaths of AAS members Francis Blake, George Ebenezer Francis and John Shaw Billings are noted.
