Report of the Council.

A report of the Council of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The author discusses the painting of the roof of the AAS' building as a way of maintaining the proper temperature in the building and notes concern regarding storage space for the society's newspaper collection. The establishment of a committee to examine plans for the society's welfare and the donation of a collection of Staffordshire pottery to the AAS by collector Emma DeForest Morse is discussed. The deaths of former AAS members William Addison Smith, Frederick Albion Ober and Francis Henry Lee are noted.
