Report of the Council.

A report from the Council of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The author discusses how acquisitions for the society's newspaper collection may require additional shelving and expansions to the society's facilities. Cooperation and exchange of archival materials between historical societies and libraries and the AAS are noted. Attempts to promote increases in the endowment for the society were postponed due to the outbreak of war in Europe. A reduction in book acquisitions for the AAS Library due to decreased income for the society is discussed. The deaths of AAS members Alexander Francis Chamberlain, Robert A. Brock, Ralph Charles Henry Catterall and William Nelson are noted.
