Report of the Council.

A report by the Council of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The author acknowledges the deaths of AAS members Thomas McAdory Owen, James Schouler, William Denison Lyman and Franklin Bowditch Dexter. The repainting of the dome of the AAS building and the need for repairs to the building's roof are noted. The establishment of a fund to finance expansions to the storage facility for the society's newspaper collection is discussed. The commemoration by the society of the two-hundredth anniversary of the landing of the pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts is described.
