The article discusses the management of the archives of Massachusetts. A statement issued by the secretary of the Commonwealth regarding the status of Massachusetts archives and public records, including legislative and General Court records, the copying of records and the need for additional storage space for records, is presented. A committee, headed by representative George Bliss, was formed to investigate the preservation of Massachusetts records. A resolution was made to examine and arrange selected records for preservation in a fireproof addition to the Bulfinch State House.
