Report of Librarian.

A report issued by the librarian of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The author discusses books, pamphlets, engravings, maps and newspapers acquired by the society and notes how the society's limited finances have affected the purchase of books and newspaper collections, leading AAS members to contribute to a fund for newspaper acquisitions. A list of newspapers donated to the society, including the "Portland Gazette" and the "Catskill Recorder," is presented. The acquisition of rare almanacs and pamphlets for the society, including a pamphlet by theologian Ezra Stiles which features a poem by author John Hubbard, is also noted.
