The article presents the 1927 annual report of the librarian for the American Antiquarian Society which details acquisitions and other projects involving the society's collection. Acquisitions received as gifts included the 18th-century imprints "Frugal Housewife," by Susannah Carter, "Tom Paine's Jests," and "The Prodigal Daughter." Accessions of American newspapers include the "Troy Gazette," the "Northampton, Hampshire Gazette," and the "Chelsea Bulletin." The author also reports on the library's work on the reference book "New Dictionary of American Biography," edited by Allen Johnson, funded by Adolph S. Ochs.
