The Early Forms of Worship in North America.

The article presents information related to early forms of religious worship in North America from the 16th century to approximately 1825. The three basic styles of worship that were practiced included liturgical worship such as the Catholic Church, Church of England, Lutherans and Judaism, partially liturgical worship such as Reformed church, Moravian, New Church and Methodist and non-liturgical worship such as Congregationalist and Baptist. The author examines how each of these forms of worship were practiced in North America and discusses how they developed as a result of being transplanted across the Atlantic Ocean.
