Report of the Librarian.

A report issued by the librarian for the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is presented. The author discusses the use of the AAS Library for various research efforts and suggests that a recession has benefited the library due to lower prices offered by booksellers. The library's acquisitions of books, pamphlets, engravings, maps and newspapers are noted. A bequest from the estate of AAS member Henry W. Cunningham resulted in the acquisition by the library of oil paintings and some of Cunningham's private library. The donation of the U.S. colonial newspaper "The Present State of the New-English Affairs" to the society is noted.
