Champlain and His Landings at Cape Ann, 1605, 1606.

The article presents an examination into the early exploration of the northeastern Atlantic seaboard of the U.S. and Canada prior to and including those of Samuel de Champlain in 1605 and 1606. An overview of exploration of North America between the travels of Christopher Columbus and the expedition of Champlain is given. A profile of Champlain and his career is provided. Focus is then given to accounts of the landings of Champlain on Cape Ann during his two voyages. Details of Champlain's itinerary and his description of New England are reproduced.
