The article presents an exploration into the history of the Episcopal Church in Dover, Delaware and the ministry of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts (SPG) missionary priest George Ross. An introductory background to the church history of Delaware is given from the 1640s. A profile of Ross's life and ministerial career in throughout the American colonies is given, noting his initial difficulties with his ecclesiastical superiors and his varying successes and difficulties in managing the parishes of Delaware.
