Elihu Yale: Governor, Collector and Benefactor.

A biography of British merchant, philanthropist and governor of the British East India Company Elihu Yale is presented. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 5, 1649, Yale returned to London, England a few years after his birth. He most likely attended Merchant Taylors' School and later became a writer for the East India Company in India. He would eventually succeed as a merchant and takeover the governorship of the British East India Company. Later, Yale University would be named in his honor.
