The article presents information on the first theatrical company to operate in the Americas. In 1599 South America received a number of comedians who formed the a stage company, but theater likely existed before this as well based on knowledge of Spanish celebrations and festivals that would have been celebrated places such as Peru. The article examines the theatrical company led by Francisco Perez de Robles that came to Peru sometime around 1599. The article discusses how the company organized with each player earning a specific share. The article provides names of individuals who were also members of the group including Bartholome Suarez, Andres Gonzales, Miguel de Burgos, Juan Chrisostomo, Bernardo Martinez and Luis de Mayorga.
