The article presents an examination into the life of the colonial era American poet and Anglican minister Nathaniel Evans, his work and ministry with the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, and the relationship of his father Edward Evans to the society after his death. Reproductions of several letters sent between patrons of the Society are given citing direct references to the missionary work conducted by Evans during his lifetime. Further comments are given describing the financial support which the Society gave to Edward Evans after Nathaniel's death and the appointment of Robert Blackwell to replace him.
