Report of the Librarian.

The article presents the 1947 annual report of the librarian for the American Antiquarian Society which details acquisitions and other projects involving the society's collection. Acquisitions included a bound collection of 17th century tracts including "A Short Catechism...for the Private Instruction of the Younger Sort in Cambridge in New-England," by Thomas Shepard, "Brief Instructions for Children," by John Horne, and "A Short Catechism Composed...in Newbury for the Use of the Children There," by James Noyes. Accessions of American sheet music included songs with lyrics written by notable American authors William Cullen Bryant, Bret Harte, Henry W. Longfellow, John Greenleaf Whittier, and Walt Whitman.
