A Season in Federal Street.

The financially unsuccessful ten-month season is described in some detail on the basis of the minutes of the proprietor's meetings, correspondence, contracts, inventories, receipted bills, and the like available in the Boston Public Library. The staff and the company are described, as are the efforts of Williamson to attract audiences to make the theater a profitable venture. Lists of weekly expenses, inventories of costumes and sets, and lists of plays given and weekly receipts are presented.
