Tears for Old Tippecanoe.

Analyzes the reaction to President Harrison's death revealed in a sampling of 100 of the 138 printed sermons and eulogies delivered in April - May 1841 and compares them with sermons preached on the occasion of President Taylor's death in 1850. In the first group, 86 out of 100 believed that Harrison's death resulted from special Divine dispensation, and 21 insisted that an angry God was thus demanding extensive reforms in America.
