Report of the Librarian.

The librarian has attempted to maintain a balance between publications issued previous to 1821 and later materials which will illuminate the latter portions of the 19th century. Many specific titles are selected by the librarian for highlighting. An addition to the publications on American railroads before 1876 makes the railroadiana an interesting and valuable collection.
