Continued from a previous article. This bibliography is concerned primarily with narrative books in English, designed for children under 15 years of age, to be read at leisure for pleasure. Books written about or by children, treatises on the education and rearing of children, broadsides, sermons, catechisms, primers, and school books are excluded. Alphabet books and selected pre-school books are included, as the bibliography is written from a collector's point of view. A brief "Chronological History of American Children's Books" and a description of the major collections are included. The bibliography is being printed in serial form to make possible correction and revision. In the case of many titles, locations of known copies are indicated. The entire work will eventually be re-issued in hard covers.
