Homer Daniels Babbidge, Jr.

Babbidge received an American Studies Ph.D. from Yale, and spent most of his career in various educational agencies of the federal government, administering the National Defense Education Act and supporting federal advancement of higher education. He later became president of the University of Connecticut, and edited selected writings of Noah Webster. After resigning the presidency in 1972, he spent the remainder of his life in higher education and edited two books on corkscrews.
