John Howland Gibbs Pell.

The senior member of the American Antiquarian Society at the time of his death in 1987, John H. G. Pell was a biographer of Ethan Allen and long involved with the Fort Ticonderoga Association. He recently completed a biography of Philip Schuyler, after having spent much of the last two decades as a member of numerous educational and governmental bodies in the state of New York.
