David Levin.

An expert in colonial and national periods of US history, Levin published his first book, 'What Happened at Salem?' in 1950 while still in graduate school. He went on to publish works on such topics as romantic history, Cotton Mather, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Benjamin Franklin. Levin was inducted into the American Antiquarian Society in 1978.
